Union Minister Slams Congress and CPM Amidst Tragedy: Kerala Blast Updates

In a tragic turn of events on Sunday morning, three blasts rocked a Christian group’s convention centre in Kalamassery, Kerala’s Ernakulam district. One person lost their life, and approximately 40 others were injured in the incident.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar didn’t mince words, criticizing the Congress and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) for their approach to appeasement politics. He took to social media to express his condemnation, asserting that the consequences of their appeasement policies always fall upon innocent individuals from all communities.

Chandrasekhar also highlighted a concerning incident involving a Hamas leader’s virtual presence at a pro-Palestine rally in Kerala, accusing the Congress, CPM, and their alliances of irresponsibly inviting terrorist elements and promoting divisive ideologies in the state.

The blast, caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) according to Kerala DGP Shaik Darvesh Saheb, prompted swift action. A four-member National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, in collaboration with local police, is currently investigating the incident.

Disturbing scenes unfolded at the convention center, with fires and panicked attendees. Health Minister Veena George confirmed around 40 injuries, including a critically burnt ten-year-old child and seven individuals in the ICU at Kalamassery Medical College. The tragic incident might lead to a total of 50 casualties, she added.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan confirmed the casualty figures, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and assuring a thorough investigation for more details.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have heightened vigilance following the blasts in Kerala. In an official statement, they announced special security measures in crowded areas, with the Special Cell maintaining constant communication with intelligence agencies to ensure the safety of the public.
