As the upcoming Assembly elections loom in Siddipet, the political landscape is poised for a significant
shift, with women emerging as the decisive factor in shaping the outcome. Their votes carry immense
weight in constituencies such as Siddipet, Gajwel, Dubbaka, and Husnabad, outnumbering men and
becoming a pivotal focus for candidates from major parties securing their political future.
Official figures from the final voter list reveal that out of the 948,669 voters in the district, a notable
480,166 are women, surpassing the count of 468,422 men. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s
stronghold, the Gajwel constituency, takes the lead with 274,654 voters, including 138,353 women,
136,294 men, and seven others.
In Minister T Harish Rao’s segment of Siddipet, 233,733 voters make their voices heard, with 118,317
women, 115,346 men, and 70 others. Dubbaka sees 198,100 voters, with 101,081 women and 97,019
men. Meanwhile, Husnabad boasts a total of 242,182 voters, including 122,415 women, 119,763 men,

Observers estimate that women in the district are particularly conscientious about exercising their voting
rights, prompting political parties to intensify efforts to secure mass support from female voters. This
heightened awareness is evident in the intensified campaigning by the ruling BRS, BJP, and Congress
parties.
The BRS spotlights government women’s schemes such as ‘Kalyana Lakshmi,’ ‘Nutrition Kit,’ ‘KCR Kit,’
‘Arogya Mahila,’ ‘Ammabadi Vehicles,’ and V Hub single women pensions. The Congress, on the other
hand, focuses on six guarantees, including Rs.2,500 assistance, Rs.500 gas cylinders, and free travel in RTC buses.
The saffron party is reportedly crafting a manifesto with a significant emphasis on women,
underscoring the recognition of women’s pivotal role in shaping the political dynamics of Siddipet district.
