In the aftermath of the recent security breach in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress leader, attributed the incident to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies. Speaking to reporters, Gandhi highlighted the pressing issue of unemployment in India, asserting that the breach in the Lok Sabha was a direct consequence of the challenges faced by the country’s youth in securing employment.

Gandhi’s comments came as a response to the intrusion where two individuals entered the Lok Sabha chamber, raised slogans, and released yellow smoke, causing panic among those present. Three out of the four individuals subsequently arrested in connection with the breach were reported to be unemployed. Families of two of them revealed that the lack of job opportunities had led to despondency. The arrested individuals included Manoranjan D, an engineering graduate turned farmer; Amol Shinde, who had faced setbacks in Army recruitment; Neelam Azad, unsuccessful in securing a trained graduate teacher’s job; and Sagar Sharma, an e-rickshaw driver from Lucknow.

The families shared heartbreaking stories of their struggles with unemployment, shedding light on the emotional toll it took on the individuals involved. Azad’s mother expressed the desperation her daughter felt due to being unable to find a job despite her education. Similarly, Shinde’s mother revealed his depressive state over failing to clear the Army recruitment process.

The Opposition parties have seized upon the security breach incident, staging protests throughout the week. They are demanding a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and calling for discussions in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha regarding the breach.

As the debate over the security breach unfolds, the focus on unemployment as a driving factor adds a significant dimension to the discussion. Rahul Gandhi’s assertion highlights the socio-economic challenges faced by India’s youth, emphasizing the need for comprehensive solutions to address the pressing issue of joblessness in the country.
